It is a purchase that will make you happy. Then it is important that you buy the right jacuzzi. Because one jacuzzi is not the other. In this blog we would like to tell you everything you need to know before purchasing a jacuzzi. Read it carefully, because buying a jacuzzi is not an easy thing to do. Do you still have questions after reading this blog? Feel free to contact us. We are happy to help you and find the perfect jacuzzi for you.
What exactly is a jacuzzi?
Before we tell you what to look for when you buy a jacuzzi, let us first clarify the name "jacuzzi". Did you know that this is actually a brand name? The name has become synonymous with what we call a bubble bath, hot tub or outdoor spa. In this blog we stick to the name jacuzzi. Because this is simply the common term for most people. Just as happened with Luxaflex for the well-known type of window coverings.
What should you pay attention to when buying a jacuzzi?
Buying a jacuzzi is of course a wonderful moment. But it's not always easy. There is a huge offer. Just take a look at our webshop . But don't worry, we're always here to help you find the right model. It is important to know what you want and what the options are within your budget. But there is even more to consider when buying a jacuzzi. With this blog we want to inform you about this. There are many practical and technical aspects that you probably do not take into account. That is understandable, because that cannot be expected from a layman either. As a specialist, it is our job to provide you with complete information so that you can make an informed choice.
Buying a jacuzzi: this is how you determine the right size
Of course you may have decided that you want to buy an outdoor spa, but it is important to check in advance what is and what is not possible. This is to avoid any disappointments. You must have a suitable place for placing a jacuzzi in your garden. Whether a location is suitable depends mainly on the power supply and the subsoil. A jacuzzi can only be placed on a hard, level surface. Most people choose a cozy, cozy place. On the terrace, the veranda or under a canopy, for example. Not a good idea on the grass. In addition, make sure you choose a place where the outdoor spa can be connected to power.
We recommend choosing a place where there is at least 60 centimeters of space around the jacuzzi. Space is useful for getting in and out, but also for maintaining your jacuzzi. It is not a problem to place the hot tub against one or more closed walls, but access to the pumps and other parts must be freely accessible, and you often also have to deal with a cover lifter that also needs space. So make sure you know what space you have available. This can somewhat limit your choice from the various formats.
The easiest way to arrive at a selection of suitable models is to check with how many people you want to use the jacuzzi. Are you alone? Would you like to enjoy it with your partner, or perhaps with the whole family? There are outdoor spas for sale in 1-person, 2-person or multi-person versions.
Always try the jacuzzi in the showroom first
Buying a jacuzzi requires a considerable investment. When you buy a hot tub, you naturally want to be able to enjoy it for many years. That is why it is important to purchase a jacuzzi that meets your wishes and requirements in every way. Finesse Wellness offers you the opportunity to buy a jacuzzi online. However, we advise you to always come to the showroom first to “try out” the jacuzzi dry. You want to be sure that the jacuzzi you have in mind is comfortable. You buy an outdoor spa to enjoy, to relax. Then it must meet your wishes 100% in all respects.
What you have to take into account in terms of material and finish
There is more to jacuzzis than you see at first. Obviously you want to buy a jacuzzi that looks nice. But looks aren't everything. That is why it is so important that you buy your jacuzzi from a specialist. A real specialist will always point out important matters. It is precisely the things that you do not immediately think about that are extremely important for your experience.
First of all, when buying a jacuzzi it is important that you are well informed about the different materials of the frame. The frame of a Jacuzzi is made of wood, plastic or stainless steel. The right choice for you depends on your wishes and budget. Each material has its own advantages and disadvantages. Stainless steel is the strongest but weighs a bit more than, for example, wood or plastic. Wood can be a cheap solution and an excellent choice for the somewhat cheaper baths, all value for money.
What about insulation and protection?
Using a jacuzzi costs money. The water in the hot tub must be heated and pumps are needed for operation and massage jets. The degree of insulation largely determines the energy efficiency of the jacuzzi. You can buy a cheap jacuzzi, but if it has hardly any insulation, it will probably use a lot of energy and have relatively high operating costs. Therefore, look at the insulation on the side panels, the bottom and the bottom of the tub.
Your jacuzzi is outside. Of course you take good care of your outdoor spa and close it with the cover. But what about the bottom? It is hot and humid in and around a jacuzzi. These are the favorite conditions of all kinds of pests. Get informed about the soil. For example, you can buy a jacuzzi with a so-called ABS bottom. This not only has an insulating effect, but also protects well against vermin.
The technical aspects involved in buying a jacuzzi
Basically, many jacuzzis do the same. But how well they do this, and the way they do it, can vary greatly. Buying a Jacuzzi is, in a way, like buying a car: never buy without looking under the hood. Now we cannot expect you as a "layman" to understand exactly what you find on the inside of a jacuzzi. That is why we have listed the most important technical aspects when buying a spa for you.
The control of the jacuzzi is crucial for the enjoyment you experience. This just has to be okay. That is why we at Finesse Wellness prefer to work with Gecko or Balboa systems. These are both market leaders that offer the quality you would expect when you invest in a luxury product like an outdoor spa.
Many people automatically see a jacuzzi (or hot tub or spa) as a whirlpool. That is not true. Many outdoor spas do not have a bubble function as standard. The bubble function is often confused with the massage function. Bubbles are created by blowing air. This requires an additional pump. You should therefore often purchase this air blower as an option if you want your jacuzzi to also be a bubble bath.
The massage jets of your outdoor spa provide a feeling of well-being. A built-in pump is responsible for this. If you buy an inexpensive bubble bath from a lower segment, you often get a pump with a relatively low power (1.4 HP). Moreover, this is often a two-position pump; a type of pump that is not very efficient and economical. If you invest a little more, it is possible to buy a jacuzzi with a circulation pump. A circulation pump is more economical and quieter. That provides more comfort. The circulation pump runs about 12 hours a day and provides filtration of the water. This is more energy efficient than a two-stage pump that provides both massage and circulation. For a really powerful massage jet, we recommend a pump with a capacity of at least 3 HP, or several pumps such as 2x 2.5 HP or even more.
